Mission Statement
Leading People to a Life Changing Connection with Jesus Christ!
Welcome to Savannah Christian Church! We are excited to have this opportunity to share with you what SCC is all about. At Savannah Christian, our mission is to lead people to a life-changing connection with Jesus Christ. Our vision is to be a Biblically functioning community of believers growing deeper through worship, larger through evangelism, stronger through discipleship, warmer through fellowship and broader through ministry.
At Savannah Christian, the statement “Every Member is a Minister” is more than a lofty ideal, but a reflection of a life lived 24/7 in service to Jesus Christ. We believe that the mark of a fully-connected follower of Jesus Christ requires more than a once-a-week, Sunday-morning “fix” of Christianity. We encourage each of our members to plug-in to the life of the church each week in three key areas: Worship, Community and Evangelism.
Worship:
Weekly corporate worship is an integral part of the life of Savannah Christian Church. Over 5,000 members and visitors in the Savannah, GA metro area and South Carolina low country worship in seven weekend services on three campuses. Our main campus, on Al Henderson Blvd., holds worship services on Saturday evening and Sunday mornings, with full programming for children from birth to elementary. In addition, worship services and age-appropriate programs for Jr/Sr high, young adult and college age are offered simultaneously at the Link, the 25,000 square foot adjoining facility, which opened in the fall of 2006. Also, in early 2006, Savannah Christian East was launched. East Campus, which meets at Hesse Elementary School on Sunday mornings, ministers to East Savannah residents, and is one of the largest products to date to come out of the church’s current vision campaign, Imagine. Our third campus, LateChurch, meets at 11:01 AM and 7:01 PM on Sundays at the downtown Savannah Theater, and seeks to reach the GenX community in a location and format comfortable for both believers and non-Christ followers. In addition to our weekend worship services, SCC offers a vibrant Wednesday night time of worship and teaching at the Henderson campus, including fellowship meals and full programming for all ages.
Community:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42. We were made for God’s family! To be all that God designed us to be, we need to be connected to other members of our church family. In community, we pursue God, care for one another, serve one another and even celebrate one another. Small groups are a key component to building community at SCC. Dozens of small groups meet during the week throughout the Savannah area, in homes, dorm rooms, businesses, coffee shops, and at the church. Through the process of fellowship, friendship, study, prayer and ministry together, small groups build up the body of Christ at SCC.
Evangelism:
We were made to serve others. At Savannah Christian Church, it’s not enough to warm the bench – you have to get into the game! Following the scriptural directive of Acts 1:8 to “be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”, SCC seeks to actively impact our world for Jesus Christ with over 100 programs, ministries and missions right here in Savannah/Carolina low country, all the way across the world, and everywhere in between.
The desire of our heart is to honor God in our worship, teaching, service and outreach by welcoming, loving and discipling all He places in our care. We hope you will join us as we seek after God’s will for His people in this place, at this time, for this generation.
